Upcoming DuPage webinar "Free Content' postponed; encore presentation scheduled instead...
Just received the following announcement from College of DuPage:
Hello subscribers,
I regret to inform you that the February 4th teleconference, “Free Content for Library Collections” has been postponed due to bad weather. Apparently, a snowstorm to rival the Blizzard of 1967 is headed for Chicago and we were not certain our presenters and program host could get here from Philadelphia and Florida (there were scheduling conflicts as well).
So, the decision was made to postpone the teleconference. We are working with our presenters to select a new date and hope to announce it during the webcast on February 4th. The new date will most likely be in February or early March of this year.An ENCORE PRESENTATION of the teleconference, "Tools of Engagement: Attracting and Engaging Library Users," will air this Friday, February 4th, in place of the postponed "Free Content" program.For information on this program, go to:

New Minitex OCLC Webinars
Those of you taking LIBT 2200 Introduction to Cataloging this semester or if you're a graduate - you may want to sign up for one or more of these webinars as continuing education. We use the web browser version of Connexion in our classes, but the Connexion client software is a free download if you want to play with it. Contact me to discuss getting temporary student access to Connexion if you're not working in a library that could provide it to you.

Local Holdings MaintenanceLocal Holdings Maintenance - Part 1
This webinar will introduce library staff to the basics of editing Local Holdings Records (LHRs) through the OCLC Connexion Browser. We will discuss the implementation of MARC 21 format in OCLC, and demonstrate the steps required to update LHRs. In Part 1, the focus is on LHRs created by the automated migration from Passport UL, and trainees will learn how to update and delete holdings currently in the system. This webinar will include live demonstration of updating in OCLC Connexion.
