Required/Preferred Qualifications
** This position is represented by AFSCME Technical Bargaining Unit. Dues or Fair Share deductions will be made.**
Required:
Two (2) years of college coursework and/or relevant library experience including prior experience in a document delivery service; validating reference citations in medical or scientific fields; sourcing documents from outside vendors; providing online and telephone based customer service and working with the Aleph circulation tools. Previous experience with tools such as: WorldCat, MEDLINE, MNCAT, or SciFinder for citation validation.
Preferred:
Prior experience conducting bibliographic research in biomedical and/or scientific literature.
Prior experience providing services to corporate or legal clients.

Description: The Fargo Public Library seeks a Library Associate III Acquisitions Associate to assist in the management of acquisitions for monographs, serials and A/V formats. Select and receive materials, import vendor records; edit database records. Receive serials; manage serial subscription renewals, cancellations, claims and holdings. Associate's degree required, with experience in acquisitions, Microsoft Excel, Aleph, Connexion, iPage and EBSCONET; ability to work independently and in a team environment; detail oriented with excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and move loaded book trucks.
