THE POSITION

Library Bindery/Preservation Internship
Hennepin County Library

The Bindery/Preservation department with Hennepin County Library plays a vital role in ensuring the long-term viability of the Library’s print collections through repair and restoration measures, book binding, preservation photocopy, and other preservation methods. The Bindery/Preservation department also performs a consulting and educational function for staff on preservation matters.

Commitment:
One semester, 4 to 8 hours per week, January 2011 to May 2011

Wage:
This is an unpaid position which could be for college credit or work experience

Location:
Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis

· Preservation bookbinding

Teach Your Children to Surf the Internet Safely

Your children are the primary target of internet-based threats like computer viruses, adware, and spyware through the websites they often visit and misleading information they obtain. This is the reason why, as parents, it is important to discuss with your children how to surf the net safely and away from any internet-based threats.


Downloads

Downloading files from unknown source is one of the most common reasons why the computer is infected with viruses and spyware. Teach your children to evaluate the safety of the site before clicking on these ads or tell them to ask you first before making any moves.
