MN Internship Posting: Marketing Communications Intern

I know this isn't a "library" internship, but this is the kind of opportunity in an allied field that can be a good choice for someone in our LIT program.

Marketing Communications Intern
Capstone is currently seeking a communication intern to work with the Marketing Department in Bloomington. This is a temporary, part-time position (20 hours per week). This position is responsible for assisting the execution of internal and external communication activities: employee communications, PR, publicity, and social media; proof-reading, data entry, tracking projects, and project coordination.

The successful candidate will have or is pursuing a degree in communication studies, journalism, marketing or business. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; great written and verbal communication skills; proficient in internet research and Microsoft Suite software; self-starter; excellent team contributor; as well as possess strong attention to details.

Join us for our celebration of the 10th anniversary of the arrival of the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection in Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Studies at the University of Minnesota. This exhibit highlights the importance of preserving GLBT cultural heritage and the significant impact it can have on the lives of individuals and our community.

Radford, Ph.D, just back from Reference Renaissance 2010 in Denver, Colorado, and co-editor of Reference Renaissance: Current and Future Trends will talk with you about re-designing library public services, focusing on reference.  The program will explore how reference services are evolving by incorporating new technologies, modes of delivery, and new staffing models.  And how do we assess this new style of reference service?

Marie Radford,Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey’s School of Communication & Information and a leading library consultant.
