MetroNet WindDown on Copyright in the Information Age

Join MetroNet at the Lindell Library at Augsburg College on February 3, 2010 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. for the first WindDown of the year!

Three academic librarians, Lyndi Finifrock (Bethel University), Jessica McIntyre (Minneapolis Institute of Arts), and Betsy Dadabo (Bethel University), will lead a lively discussion of copyright in the information age.  The session will explore issues of copyright by showing a remix of “RiP: A remix manifesto,” an open source documentary on copyright and remix culture by web activist and filmmaker Brett Gaylor.  The history of copyright, development of digital copyright, intellectual property, and Creative Commons will be addressed.  The presenters will facilitate an interactive discussion following the film.
This presentation is very similar to one they gave at the Minnesota Library Association Conference.

Attendees to their MLA presentation loved it, so we hope you make time to join us on February 3rd.  We guarantee a good discussion on this hot topic!

Details about the WindDown (including a link for a map of the Augsburg campus) can be found on the Metronet home page.

Parking is available on the streets around the campus or in the Riverside Ramp.

You do not need to RSVP for this event, but if you have questions please contact Metronet at 651-646-0475.
