Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; occasional weekend time
Job Responsibilities:
This position performs professional and supervisory library work involving the management of day-to-day activities related to the circulation of library materials, provision of computer support to students and others, and access to library services to Metropolitan State University; supervision of classified staff in Library Public Services (Circulation, Information Commons, and Interlibrary Loan).
MinimumPosition Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or related field
• Two years of experience supervising staff of at least 5 employees
• One year customer service experience in a library
• Ability to work independently and collegially
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
• Knowledge of culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse student body sufficient to provide consistent service to all students/staff/faculty.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science
• Supervisory experience in a government and/or union environment
• Experience in an academic library
• Experience with the Aleph 500 library system
• Experience with Interlibrary Loan operations
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and Office 2010
Salary Range: $18.08 – $26.13/hour
